Signatory Avenue

Palanga, celebrating the Centenary of Independence together with the whole of Lithuania, has been enriched with another cultural space – Signataru Alley. The authors of the alley with the stele decorating it are Algirdas Žebrauskas and Arūnas Sakalauskas, professors of the Vilnius Academy of Arts and winners of the Lithuanian National Prize. The new cultural space is located between the city church, standing on the site of the former pro-gymnasium of Palanga. The renovated pedestrian square is one of the highlights of the Independence Centenary commemoration in Palanga, and at the same time it pays respect to the four signatories of the Act of February 16, who studied at Palanga pro-gymnasium: Antanas Smetona, Kazimierus Stepon Šaulis, Jurgis Šaulis and Stepon Kairis. Location: between Palanga St. Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary
