Signatory Avenue

Palanga, together with the rest of Lithuania, is celebrating the Centenary of Independence and has been enriched with another cultural space – Signatories’ Alley.

The alley and the stele decorating it were designed by Algirdas Žebrauskas and Arūnas Sakalauskas, professors at the Vilnius Academy of Arts and winners of the Lithuanian National Prize.

The cultural space is located next to the town church. The renovated pedestrian square is one of the highlights of the Centennial of Independence celebrations in Palanga, paying tribute to the four signatories of the Act of February 16 who studied at Palanga Pro-Gymnasium: Antanas Smetona, Kazimieras Steponas Šaulys, Jurgis Šaulys, and Steponas Kairys.

Location: next to the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Palanga
