The house where artist and composer Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis stayed in 1908–1909
Čiurlionis Mikalojus Konstantinas (1875–1911) – composer, artist. He visited Palanga as a teenager with the orchestra of the M. Oginskis Manor School, where he played. In the summer of 1908, he spent a month in Palanga, where he composed music and painted pictures. In memory of the Čiurlionis family, a memorial plaque (sculptor D. Zubovaitė-Palukaitienė, 1969) was unveiled on the house marked with the number 17 on L. Vaineikio Street in Palanga. In 1993, the house was registered in the Register of Cultural Values of the Republic of Lithuania and is protected by the state. In Palanga Botanical Park stands S. Šarapov’s sculpture “The Archer” in memory of M. K. Čiurlionis (1981).
