Ramybė Cultural Center

History

Back in 1938, Palanga businessman Kazimieras Milašius purchased a plot of land with a residential house at 35 Vytauto Street and decided to build the resort’s first cinema there. He realized his plans in 1940. At the end of that same year, his property was nationalized and turned into a cultural center during the Soviet era. Over the course of fifty years, it housed a cinema, a registry office, and a music club. From 1973, it served as the Palanga City Culture Department.

The RAMYBĖS Cultural Center today

A few years ago, the management and maintenance of this unique cultural space in Palanga was taken over by the neighboring villa Ramybė. Thanks to more than a decade of sincere work, the villa has created a unique aura of “peace” where representatives of art and culture, other people interested in creativity, or simply those open to it gather to spend time.

Throughout the year, on weekend evenings and every day during the summer months, concerts, chamber performances, literary evenings, book presentations, and non-commercial film screenings take place here.

SERVICES

• The RAMYBĖS Cultural Center hall is available for rent for various cultural events, such as concerts, performances, film screenings, etc.
• The hall has 170 seats (20 of which are in the balcony) at tables. The seating can be rearranged in various ways.
• If you are a member of a music group, a creator or performer of a play or other performing arts project, and you have ideas suitable for this space, please contact us and we will work together to find ways to implement these ideas.

• The large hall of the RAMYBĖS Cultural Center, the adjacent bar, and the second-floor balcony bar can host seminars, conferences, celebrations, and various presentations for 100-150 people. Coffee breaks, banquets, and receptions can be arranged.
• Equipment: transformable stage, professional concert sound equipment, lighting equipment, projector, screen, microphones, TV, whiteboard, wireless internet.
• The courtyard of the RAMYBĖS gallery can host seminars, conferences, celebrations, and various presentations for up to 50 people. Coffee breaks, banquets, and receptions can be arranged.
• Equipment: projector, screen, whiteboard, sound equipment, TV, wireless internet.
• The white hall of the RAMYBĖ villa can host private parties or seminars (up to 40 people). The café-bar can prepare coffee breaks, business lunches, and dinners.
• Equipment: projector, screen, whiteboard, sound equipment, TV, wireless internet.

Event participants can stay at the RAMYBĖ villa (Vytauto g. 54).
