Palanga Evangelical Lutheran Church
The Palanga Evangelical Lutheran Parish was established in the early 20th century. At that time, it was a branch of the Kretinga Parish. From 1910, believers gathered for services in the home of pharmacist Oskar Berting. Later, a spacious room was set up on the second floor of the house, where believers prayed for 18 years. The community consisted of Lithuanians, Latvians, and Germans, so priests preached in three languages. The first parish house was built and consecrated in 1928 on Jūratės Street. It burned down in 1938. The Soviet authorities did not allow the parish to operate.
The parish was re-established in 1993. In 2000, the city council allocated a plot of land on Saulėtekio Street for the construction of a new church, and in 2005, Bishop M. Sabutis consecrated the cornerstone of the church. The authors of the project are Irena and Gintas Likšai.
The current priest is Darius Petkūnas.
