“Sea Eye”

A bit of history:

The villa “Sea Eye” – a masterpiece of resort architecture from the late 19th to early 20th centuries – belonged to Sofija, the mother of Count Feliksas Tiškevičius.

Although the villa was only added to the register of cultural heritage sites in 1992, the artistic expression and uniqueness of the old resort architecture of Palanga were already appreciated in the interwar period:

“The creators of old architecture tried to adapt to the resort atmosphere, not shying away from fantasy and creating forms that, of course, had nothing to do with rationality, but which showed their artistic aspirations.

Looking at such a summer house, you feel that it really is a summer house, i.e., a building adapted for summer relaxation and mood.”

The café has about 160 seats for customers and a Wi-Fi zone.

Jūros akis also has a second floor with three hotel apartments where guests can stay.

All three rooms have their own names and are furnished with antique furniture.

One room is called “Jūros akis” (Sea Eye), another is the “Count’s Room,” which belonged to Count Tiškevičius, and the third room is called the “Mistress’s Room” because, according to legend, this room belonged to the count’s mistress.

There are also four economy class rooms with all amenities.
