Sculpture “Baltic Dawn”
The granite sculpture “Baltic Dawn” of a woman looking out to sea and waiting for sunrise can be seen on the southern edge of Šventoji.
Created in 1990, the sculpture previously stood in Palanga, but was moved to Šventoji in 2009.

Sculptor and artist Antanas Dimžlys was born on May 26, 1920, in Namišiai (Saločių district).
From 1947 to 1953, he studied at the Kaunas Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts. He participated in exhibitions from 1957.
Dimžlys is the author of many monumental sculptures and monuments in public spaces.
According to researchers of the artist’s work, A. Dimžlys’ early work is characterized by realistic expression.
Over time, his sculptures became monumental, restrained, and generalized in form,
consistently continuing the vibrant tradition of Lithuanian neoclassical sculpture.
Dimžlys created many different sculptures (mostly from stone), monuments,
decorative and thematic compositions, portraits, and works for places of worship.
