Birute Park

A cozy vacation in Palanga is unimaginable without the sea, but also without a stroll through one of the most beautiful parks in Northern Europe – Birutė Park. Known as the pearl of Palanga, this resort area is beautified every year to make it even more attractive to vacationers.

Birutė Park was established on the site of the former Birutė Forest and Birutė Hill. The landscape plan for the park was designed by the famous French architect Eduard François André at the end of the 19th century, commissioned by the Counts of Tiškevičiai.

The park is super well-designed, with lots of different views and vibes, plus really cool paths and flower beds in the squares. This used to be the Tiškevičiai estate, and it was just swampy marshland covered in bushes. The counts commissioned the digging of ponds here, and the soil was used to build the future manor house. In 1897, a Neo-Renaissance palace was built on the site, which now houses the famous Amber Museum.

Birutė Park is a great place for a quiet and cozy family getaway, so parents with little ones, young people, older Palanga residents, and visitors love to spend their free time here.

Traditionally, three times a week – every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in summer – at 6:30 p.m., wind instrument enthusiasts gather in the park’s rotunda, where the professional Palanga orchestra gives free concerts surrounded by nature for residents and visitors alike.
