The 12th World Lithuanian Sports Games will take place in Palanga from 3–6 Jul

From 3 to 6 July, Palanga will become the sports capital of the Lithuanian diaspora as it hosts the 12th World Lithuanian Sports Games, gathering thousands of Lithuanians from around the world.

Over 2,500 participants from more than 35 countries are expected to compete in 24 different sports, including basketball, volleyball, athletics, swimming, chess and pétanque.

Sports, community and celebration!
The Games are a major sporting event and a celebration of global Lithuanian unity. Alongside the competitions, a variety of cultural and community events will take place.

  • A family-friendly cultural programme,
  • A day camp for children,
  • tours, educational activities and exhibitions.

There will also be a scientific conference and the Global Lithuanian Sports Forum. There will also be a festive celebration of Statehood Day on 6 July, which will include the singing of the national anthem together with Lithuanians around the world.

The official opening ceremony will take place on the evening of 2 July, with competitions beginning on 3 July at various sports venues throughout Palanga.
