The villas were built between 1890 and 1905. From the beginning of the 20th century, the villas belonged to Countess Sofija Ti\u0161kevi\u010dien\u0117 and were rented out. Unfortunately, the perimeter balconies typical of resort villas have not survived. During the season, they became a place for playful flirting, meeting new people, and socializing in Palanga.\r\nAt the beginning of the 1940s, the villas became the property of the Lithuanian Economy Bank. In 1937, they were used as a guesthouse and sanatorium, and later the J\u016brat\u0117s rest home was established there. To this day, the villas look quite authentic, although extensions were added to the facades and the balconies and terraces were demolished during the Soviet era.\r\nThe Romeo and Juliet villa complex on Birut\u0117s Alley, together with other buildings that belonged to the counts, symbolizes the elegant historical period of the Ti\u0161kevi\u010diai family and marks the beginning of modern leisure culture in Lithuania.
