It is one of the few brick villas in the resort. After the death of Count Juozapas Ti\u0161kevi\u010dius in 1891, the building was inherited by his daughter, Countess Marija Ti\u0161kevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117.\r\nFrom 1938, the villa belonged to Vlad Sta\u0161inskas (1874\u20131944), a public figure and lawyer in the Republic of Lithuania. In the 1940s, the first president of Lithuania, Antanas Smetona, would stay here with his family for four weeks every year during the season. The president was accompanied by his permanent staff. During the summer, the villa became the summer residence of the President of Lithuania.\r\nIn interwar Lithuania, this villa, located at the intersection of Birut\u0117s Alley and J. Basanavi\u010diaus Street, was an exclusive location in the resort town of Palanga. In the summer, it was visited by the most important representatives of the political and cultural elite. During the Soviet era, the facades of the villa were severely damaged and the interior layout was changed.
